The indiscriminate use of pesticides over the years has caused a number of problems, including pest resistance and contamination of important global sources such as water, air and soil. Plant-based pesticides can therefore be an ecological alternative to synthetic pesticides to improve the efficiency of agricultural production and sustainably reduce the food crisis, while protecting the health of consumers.
