Alternance des langues et stratégies d’enseignement en eps en contexte bilingue

Abstract : This article deals with language switching as a strategy for teaching physical education and sports in a bilingual context. Our assertions are based on a close analysis of classes and exchanges with teachers in Guadeloupe and Haïti. The present analysis of the facts registered, shows s the importance of code-switching from French to Creole as a strategy among teachers as well as among school-children, during such a class. During a sports and physical education class, code-switching favors motor development and contributes to improve partnership between the teacher and the school-children
