Musique et parole, parole musicale guyanaise. Écho à la mémoire du verbe poétique d'Édouard Glissant

Abstract : Édouard Glissant’s poetic discourse is the profound chant of a coherent moving speech. It belongs to a literary project made up of four driving pillars : language and scenery on one hand, and history area and memory area on the other hand. This is the way he examines the world that, in its scattered unity, requires that each one endeavour to meet the “admitted opacity of the other”. In response to this speech and to some related subtexts such as the Discours de la relation, the author wonders about the nature and the meaning of memory in music. In order to do this, he leans on the art of today’s Guyanese music which music is a type of specific “language”. It is a revealing tool that allows to display one’s knowledge in various fields.
